Day 1: ARRIVAL QUITO

Upon arrival at Mariscal Sucre International Airport, you will be greeted by an English and Spanish-speaking local guide who will accompany you on a comfortable transfer to your hotel. Enjoy a warm welcome and the convenience of having a friendly expert to assist you, share local insights, and answer any questions about Ecuador.

Day 2: QUITO

Breakfast at the hotel. Begin your day with a pick-up and transfer to the meeting point, where your tour sets off. Join your group and ride the modern Quito Metro, a local experience in itself, towards the city’s Historic Center. Stroll through the iconic Independence Square, surrounded by centuries of living history, before admiring the stunning façade of La Compañía de Jesús, considered one of the most beautiful churches in Latin America.

TUI Wow Moments: Chocolate Tasting in Quito’s Historic Center - The experience goes beyond architecture and history, inviting you to indulge in the rich flavors of Ecuadorian single-origin chocolate. Discover why the country is home to some of the world’s finest cacao as you savor a guided tasting that highlights its unique aromas and textures. A delightful 20-minute activity that blends culture with flavor.

In the afternoon, continue north to the Intiñan Museum, located right on the equator. Here, enjoy a fun and interactive visit featuring traditional Andean culture and curious experiments that demonstrate the unique effects of standing on the equatorial line.

This full-day experience is the perfect introduction to Quito, blending local transport, vibrant culture, and the rare chance to stand with one foot in each hemisphere.

Day 3: QUITO – CUICOCHA LAGOON – QUITO (215km –4.5hrs)

Breakfast at the hotel. The day begins by meeting the group at the designated meeting point to set off toward the enchanting Andean north. Our first stop is the Quitsato Sundial, located right on the equator, where you’ll uncover how pre-Columbian cultures observed the sky and the seasons from this privileged spot.

TUI WOW Moment: Tasting at the Bizcocho & Agave Museum - Cayambe - Experience Cayambe’s rich traditions at this interactive museum dedicated to two cultural icons: the famous bizcochos (crispy pastries) and the ancestral agave plant. Learn about their history and production, savor their unique flavors, and connect with the region’s artisanal and culinary heritage

We then continue to the legendary Otavalo Market, one of the largest and most colorful in South America. Here, you’ll have time to wander its vibrant stalls, meet local artisans, and discover handwoven textiles, intricate jewelry, traditional hats, and unique souvenirs crafted by the indigenous Otavaleño community.

The journey concludes at the stunning Cuicocha Lagoon, a volcanic crater lake surrounded by lush Andean vegetation and framed by two picturesque islets. The scenery is truly breathtaking and offers the perfect moment to pause, breathe deeply, and embrace the serenity of nature.

In the late afternoon, return to Quito with the group after a day rich in culture, landscapes, and Andean traditions.

Day 4: QUITO – COTOPAXI NATIONAL PARK – QUITO (215km –4hrs)

Breakfast at the hotel. An early departure takes you south along the iconic Avenue of the Volcanoes, where snowcapped peaks and wide-open valleys create one of Ecuador’s most spectacular landscapes. The journey begins with a visit to the Mariscal Sucre Interpretation Center, offering insights into the park’s geology, wildlife, and the cultural significance of Cotopaxi. This introduction sets the stage before exploring the park itself and admiring the volcano up close. Depending on weather conditions and group fitness, you may hike up to the José Rivas Refuge or take a scenic walk around Limpiopungo Lagoon, a high-altitude wetland framed by sweeping views of Cotopaxi mirrored in its waters.
